Why Color Contrast Matters in Web Design

There are plenty of small jobs that sound easier than they feel. You know what the final result should look like, but you do not want to open a full desktop app just to make one change. Good color contrast is less about making a design louder and more about making text and important interface elements readable. A combination can look beautiful in isolation and still become difficult to read when the text is small or the screen is bright.

Check contrast for your normal text, buttons and meaningful labels. Then look at the design on more than one screen. A small contrast check early in a project can save a lot of visual rework later.
